Sell Fries Full Walkthrough: From First Sale to the Key
A checkpointed route through Sell Fries on Roblox: spawn in, land your first sale, upgrade your kitchen, survive the 8 p.m. nights, and use the hidden key to open and enter the locked area.
Sell Fries! [Anomaly] by Pharting looks like a simple fry-shop sim, but its full route has a definite shape: join and spawn at your own fry shop, run the potato-to-fries sale loop for cash, reinvest in kitchen upgrades, survive the anomaly phase that starts at 8 p.m. each night, and keep searching the potato piles until the hidden key appears — then use it to open the locked area and step inside. That unlock-and-enter moment is the finish point both recorded playthroughs of this route actually reach (one of them on day 7 of that run — an observation from that recording, not a fixed schedule).
This walkthrough traces that whole sequence in order, with a checkpoint at each stage so you can tell you're on track. One boundary up front: the recordings end at the entrance to the unlocked area, so this guide stops there too — what the game shows after you step through isn't part of the documented route.
The route at a glance
Every stage below is drawn from two independently recorded playthroughs plus the game's official objective chain (Collect Potatoes from the Pile → Make Fries → Serve Customers → Upgrade your Kitchen, with the warning "be careful when Night falls"):
- Join and spawn. Pick a team and arrive at your personal fry shop.
- Land your first sale. Potato → peel → fry → collect → serve. Checkpoint: cash in your balance.
- Reinvest. Turn early cash into peeling, cooking and helper upgrades.
- Survive the first 8 p.m. night. Checkpoint: you're still standing at the next morning.
- Repeat days. Each new morning brings a free upgrade choice and an open shop; nights get busier.
- Search for the hidden key while the sale loop keeps running. Checkpoint: the key is in your hands.
- Open the locked area and enter. Checkpoint: you've unlocked it and gone in — the documented end of the route.
First shift: from spawn to your first sale
The opening minute is scripted and identical across recordings:
- Join the experience. One recording shows pressing 1 for team select, sitting through a 3-2-1 countdown, then spawning at your own fry shop.
- Take a potato from the pile outside.
- Peel it at the peeling station. This is a small minigame — keep working it until the potato is fully peeled; a partially peeled potato isn't done.
- Cook it at the fryer. Read each station's interaction prompt — the creator's tutorial uses E on PC.
- Collect the finished fries.
- Serve the waiting customer. Patience is limited: one recording shows roughly 50 seconds before a customer gives up and leaves.
- Collect the payout. The two recordings show 20 and 22 cash on their first sales — single-session figures, so treat them as typical first-sale money, not a fixed rate. The loop now repeats.
That single circuit is the entire economic engine of the game, and each station has its own rhythm worth learning — the potato pile, the fryer, and the customer hand-off are broken down further in our guides to collecting potatoes, making fries, and serving customers.
The day cycle: 8 a.m. shop, selling hours, 8 p.m. nights
Morning (8 a.m.)
- The shop opens for essential purchases.
- A new day means a free upgrade choice — the recorded narrator recommends picking whatever makes your work faster or more efficient.
- Crossing the road is genuinely dangerous. Recorded cars can kill your character, so watch traffic every time you cross between the shop and the potato piles.
Selling hours
Run the loop and feed the money back into upgrades. Two recorded accelerators speed this up:
- Special potatoes in gold and blue sell for more than regular ones — grab them whenever you spot them in the piles.
- Fry bigger batches while a customer's patience is still long, then sell the larger handful in one go for a bigger payout.
More ways to fatten the balance are covered in our money-earning guide.
Night from 8 p.m.
- Anomalies can start appearing at 8:00 p.m.
- Outside, a dark filter gradually covers your screen — treat it as the game's warning sign. Stay out too long and an anomaly will come after you. On some recorded nights the game simply refuses to let you outside at all.
- At the shop, a creepy dark figure can appear — close the shutter immediately. Recorded nights also include sudden power cuts, red-text figures, and ghosts that walk up and eat your fries. In one multi-day run, some ghosts could be chased off while others chased the player back inside — and the ghost count grew each following night.
The timing of dusk, the warning signs, and the right response to each visitor are covered step by step in how to survive the night, our anomalies guide, and when night falls.
Checkpoint: reaching the next 8 a.m. alive, free upgrade claimed, is a cleared day.
Failure points the recordings show
The route has five documented ways to lose progress or product:
- Road traffic — getting hit costs your character's life.
- Lingering outside at night — the dark filter is your cue to head in before the anomaly reaches you.
- Reacting slowly to the dark figure — the shutter has to close immediately, not after you finish a sale.
- Ghosts at the shop — they eat fries you were about to sell.
- Missing the service window — with roughly 50 seconds of customer patience in one recording, an unfinished order is a lost sale.
Deaths do happen on camera — including a violent stretch right at the end of the multi-day run — and the recorded player simply kept going afterward. The recordings don't document an explicit death penalty or respawn rule, so treat hazard avoidance, not death recovery, as the plan. The narrator also calls the game challenging solo — especially juggling the shop while hunting the key — and recommends playing with a friend.
Upgrades: a recorded buying route, not a checklist
Only one objective is stated as required: the hidden key ("You'll also need to find a hidden key"). Every purchase below is one narrator's choice or recommendation — he openly skips some tools to save money — so treat this as a proven ordering, not a requirement list.
| Stage | Purchase | What it did in the recorded run |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Bigger potato peeler + bucket | Made the early process easier and got things moving faster |
| Early | Peeling-amount upgrade | Peels more potatoes at once |
| After saving | Potato peeling machine | Ends hand-peeling entirely, saving time and effort |
| Mid | Helper robots | Automate work; can be upgraded or supplemented for easier management and more cash |
| Mid | Cash boost | Increases cash earnings |
| Mid-to-late | Automatic fryer | "Makes the whole process much easier" |
| Late | Fries shooter | Automatically serves waiting customers so you can keep collecting potatoes |
| Late | Shop clock | Skips nighttime straight to morning, so free upgrade choices arrive sooner |
| Last | One more helper robot | Setup effectively complete; extra money goes to shop items |
What each machine costs and does in detail lives in our kitchen upgrades guide and its best-picks companion.
The key and the finish checkpoint
The key is the game's named objective — the official Roblox page literally tags it "Find The Key" — and both recordings treat it as the win condition:
- Keep the sale loop running and search the potato piles between customers. The key is hidden among the piles, and the narrator warns it can take quite a while — expect a lot of searching. One player finally spotted his while a customer was eating, and framed the moment as "finally ready to finish the game."
- Accept the key however it arrives. Searching isn't the only documented way it shows up: in the other recorded run, the player had searched for days without success, and on day 7 an entity simply handed the key over. The recordings don't explain how the two routes relate, so plan on searching — but if the key finds you first, take it.
- Open the lock and enter the sealed area. In the day-7 run, the final minutes are chaotic — the player dies repeatedly around the area — but still thanks the entity, opens the lock, and jumps in.
That unlock-and-enter act is where the verified route ends. No recording shows what the game displays after you're inside, so any specific ending scene you read about elsewhere is someone's guess, not a documented outcome — this walkthrough deliberately doesn't invent one.
Where to go from here
If the stations themselves still feel new, the beginner how-to-play guide covers the basics at a gentler pace, and the progression guide maps the long game around the loop. It's also worth checking the codes page occasionally while you grind, since active freebies are tracked there. Finally, remember that updates can change sequence details like times, prices and payouts — recent changes to the game are logged on the updates page, so recheck any step that behaves differently from this route.
